What's In the Kit

Tug Toy

A tug toy can be used for many games and it is a great toy for using as the reinforcer instead of food.

Traget Stick

A target stick is used to teach a dog "where" to alert and to familiarize a dog with all parts of a human that can be alerted on. 

25 Foot Paracord

We recommend this type of round lead because it pulls through dense cover and woods easily. We have found that flat cotton or nylon webbing becomes heavy when wet, flaps in a light breeze, and does not pull free easily when snagged.

10 Foot Paracord

Another toy for working "what's in the sky" games.

Jumping Frogs

Distractions and things that move like prey are what we teach an alternate behavior for.  The jumping frogs help with this.

Cake Pans

All the games with self control, controling other things and learning that moving things is not scary. There are also muffin tins and smaller tin bowls for the beginnings of learning how to control a ball.

Hula Hoop

We use Hula Hoops as a boundary in the intial stages of teaching stay and the intial stages of teaching what a boundary is.

Whistle

For teaching a distances recall.

Making Choices, Managing Prey Drive

In this class we will be redirecting and managing prey drive in our dogs. Because of centuries of breeding practices our dogs’ predatory behavior is often incomplete. The result can be a dog that kills or injures a dozen chickens without eating even one.

Plastic Cups

Plastic cups can be used in many of the games in this class.  Shell game, pyramid shell game, knock it down and others.  They make noise, helping your dog learn that not all noises are scary, they move around when touched, helping your dog understand that not everything stays still and that your dog can control things that move.
